Why we built it
Bus drivers are often expected to learn dozens of routes from paper route booklets, cover a shift on a route they barely know, or follow a temporary detour with little notice. Consumer GPS apps are designed for cars: they compute the fastest path to an address, while a bus driver needs the bus stops, the exact path of the route and their timing at each stop.
My Bus Driver GPS Companion was born from that observation.
What we do
- An Android app that guides bus drivers turn by turn along their route and shows whether they are on time at every stop.
- A companion website that replaces paper route booklets with interactive maps of all routes and stops.
- Automatic integration of the operator's GTFS timetable data, so everything stays up to date.
Who we work with
We work with bus operators, coach companies and public transport agencies that publish or maintain a GTFS feed. Because the solution is built on this open standard, it can be deployed on networks anywhere in the world. See coverage and compatibility.
The solution is already used by bus operators in Australia and France.
